FashionPrints That Clash, Outfits That Work
By Sara Tilla
Costume Art places the dressed body at the centre of a conversation between fashion and art.

The Met’s Costume Art exhibition brings garments into dialogue with works from across the museum. Its subject is the dressed body: how clothes and art shape what we see, and how we understand the person wearing them.
The exhibition inaugurates new galleries beside the Great Hall. The museum lists it as on view at The Met Fifth Avenue through January 10, 2027, with entry included in museum admission.
The Her & Bloom perspective: an exhibition like this offers a different way to look at an outfit. Instead of asking only who made it, consider its shape, the space it occupies and the ideas it carries. Those are useful questions beyond the gallery, too.
