FashionPrints That Clash, Outfits That Work
By Sara Tilla
Start with what you actually wear, then make space for one unexpected note.

Lay out five outfits you have worn recently and enjoyed. The colours that recur are a better starting point than a rule about what every wardrobe should contain. You might find navy and cream, or plum, charcoal and faded blue.
Pick two colours that make getting dressed feel easy. Then add one you are curious about. Try it in a small area first: socks, a scarf, a T-shirt underneath a familiar jacket.
Look at the combination in daylight and with the pieces you plan to wear. You do not have to decide whether a colour belongs to you forever. You only need to decide whether you enjoy this particular outfit.
Keep a quick photo of combinations that work. Over time, these become your own reference library, with room for changes of mood, season and taste.
